A Business Intelligence Roadmap project can be as targeted or expansive as your business needs require. Regardless of the scope, the core components of this project remain the same...marrying a functional and technical assessment of your organizations' business intelligence maturity level. The results of this assessment produce an actionable plan for your company to increase business value derived from data, business intelligence and analytics.
FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT
The functional requirements track seeks to reflect the collective conscience of the organization about the state of business intelligence in the organization. Which businesses and user groups are engaged and experiencing success in data-driven decision making? Which business imperatives or opportunities exist that are not being exploited? What are the top BI project candidates that can drive ROI and differentiate your company in the marketplace? Through techniques including executive interviews, functional workshops, surveys and analysis, our goal is to identify the pain points of the current data management and business intelligence solutions. We'll assess user adoption, analytic maturity levels and the level of shadow IT in the business.
TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT
The technical requirements track takes inventory of the current state of BI architecture, infrastructure and tools including database, data warehouse, data integration and reporting/visualization technologies. We'll handicap the state of your company's data quality, data governance and master data. Leveraging your existing technical documentation, prior studies and available application metadata, we'll supplement as required with interviews, surveys, templates and analysis to develop a comprehensive inventory of current BI applications. We'll also assess relevant organizational models, development methodologies, and data management standards in place.
